I’m a child of the mountains, forever tied to the land and destined to live out my hundred years here. My husband and I were married at Elk Garden near Mount Rogers on the Appalachian Trail. It was spring and the trilliums and trout lilies were blooming all around. We find this rugged landscape to be a wonderful inspiration in our lives. Life here is not always easy, but I have come to value a simpler way of being. I’m the enthusiastic one wherever I go and I do believe God will give me the strength to be a light in the mountains every day of my life.
